More on Falwell

Jerry Falwell's hit parade. - By Timothy Noah - Slate Magazine

God, they say, is love, but the Rev. Jerry Falwell, who died May 15, hit the jackpot trafficking in small-minded condemnation. The controversies Falwell generated followed a predictable loop. 1.) Falwell would say something hateful or clownish about some person or group associated with liberalism. 2.) A public outcry would ensue. 3.) Falwell would apologize and retract the offending comment. 4.) Falwell would repeat the comment, slightly rephrased.

Nice obituary - Naoh nails Falwell. And his article has it's own Falwell Sampler. Make sure to bookmark it, least we forget.

Another misguide moralist bites the dust. Cultural superstition claims that high profile deaths come in threes.
It is with schaden-freude, that I contemplate the possibilities...

Yes, I too think they go in 3's. Although I could mention more than that.

Let's see... Swaggert, Robertson, -actually any of the Evangelical Money Grubbing Nutcases will do.
I remember when "God" extorted millions by saying he would call Oral back "home" (if you know what I'm sayin') if the sheep of the nation didn't pony up a few mil. It always reminded me of the Blazing Saddles scene where Cleavon Little puts a gun to his own head a warns the crowd, "Nobody move or the n***er gets it!" Just brilliant.
